Keep the CMS, theme, and plugins on current versions — this alone closes most known attack paths. Enforce HTTPS across the entire site, not just checkout or login pages. Maintain tested, restorable backups on a regular schedule, not just an assumption that “backups happen somewhere.” Limit admin access to people who actively need it, and remove access promptly when someone leaves. Use strong, unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication wherever the platform supports it. Monitor uptime and get alerted immediately if the site goes down or behaves unexpectedly.
